Appvion creates product solutions through its development and use of coating formulations and applications. The Company produces thermal, carbonless, security, inkjet, digital specialty and colored papers. Appvion is headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, has manufacturing operations in Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania and employs approximately 1,250 people. © Appvion
The company’s focus has long been on developing unique coating formulas and engineering ways to apply those coatings to paper to give it special properties. Within 15 years of its founding, Appvion was offering the country’s widest range of fine coated papers. Subsequently, the company used its expertise in coating formulation and chemistry to introduce carbonless paper and its unique impact-printing technology. The company quickly became the world’s largest carbonless paper producer, a position Appvion still holds today.
I had the opportunity to work with Adam Zak in our search for a Vice President of Continuous Improvement. From our first conversation I knew that Adam was the right person to help us secure the talent we needed. He took the time to understand our business and meet with our senior leadership team, in order to produce candidates that not only met our technical needs but were aligned with our company vision and values as well. Adam’s knowledge of both Lean Transformation and Operational Excellence – and his connections to others in these areas – was invaluable to our search.
