Executive Summary
There are three critical aspects to the position:

  1. Run both day-to-day manufacturing and supply chain operations. Provide leadership, strategy and tactics to achieve world-class capability and capacity in the company’s manufacturing and supply chain functions.
  2. Creatively drive improvement and innovation across manufacturing and supply cha Provide direction and change management leadership, supporting Lean strategy across all functions, to deliver best-in-class performance.
  3. Scale it. Innovatively envision, plan, and execute for people, infrastructure, systems, processes to support growth/scale to $2 billion+. Challenge the status quo, think different, experiment, make great things happen – own it.

Position Overview 

The SVP Operations & Supply Chain is responsible for all aspects of the company’s production and supply chain operations including safety, production, quality, materials, and inventory; procurement & purchasing, distribution, warehousing, transportation, and logistics. Our new SVP will partner closely with the CEO to help run and scale this business to $2 billion+ world-wide revenue.

The SVP Operations & Supply Chain we seek is a hands-on change agent accustomed to leading the organization to do the hard work of those day-today activities that drive desired results, a person who gets that there are no quick fixes or short-cuts to sustainable, long-term success.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate meaningful, recognizable achievement; a stable, increasingly responsible career history; and sustained performance delivered over time in ever more challenging, complex discrete manufacturing environments.  It’s likely that he / she currently (or recently) serves as the number one or number two Operations executive in a $1.5 billion or larger public or private enterprise.

Our SVP Operations & Supply Chain must also exhibit a highly collaborative style that fosters and supports an open and transparent culture built on accountability, respect for people, and the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical performance.

Finally, our SVP Operations & Supply Chain will have demonstrated ability to successfully support the recruitment and development of people, as well as the planning and creation of infrastructure, systems and processes, to build and sustain a $2 billion+ organization.

Specific Experience Requirements – Resume Must Showcase 

  • Senior-level leadership experience in a complex, R&D-centric manufactured products environment
  • High-mix, low-volume international assembly manufacturing environment
  • Extensive experience with both manufacturing and supply chain systems, principles, and process development
  • Leadership driving rapid growth /scaling of manufacturing operations
  • Current / recent senior level position in $1 billion+ revenue enterprise
  • Key leadership contributions in Lean / operational excellence
  • Detailed meaningful leadership accomplishments, with the metrics to back them up – laundry list of generic management responsibilities insufficient
  • Exposure to private equity investing, acquisition due diligence, acquisition integration
